Environmental Due Diligence

Our experience in environmental auditing extends to the provisions  of independent pre-acquisition or pre divestiture audits. These are often commissioned by prospective purchasers or sellers in order to assesses the nature and scale of potential environmental liabilities.

As many of these impacts have a long term financial consequence there is a need for companies and there financiers to be assured that the purchase of a new site does not involve significant EHS liabilities.

We can complete a Phase 1 audit of your site which constitutes a combination of desk study investigations and site visit. This will involve

  • Reviewing the historical uses of the site.
  • Assessment of compliance with environmental legislation (and health and safety law if required).
  • Estimation of improvement costs (which can be taken into account during the negotiation of the purchase price).
  • Produce a report which will describe in an easy to understand manner the key liabilities and make recommendations for their mitigation.
