Integrated systems

Many benefits can accrue from integrating both environmental and health and safety management systems. For example a well-planned integrated management system (IMS) is likely to operate more cost-effectively than separate systems, and facilitate decision-making that best reflects the overall needs of the organisation.

We have experience of successfully integrating existing management system and developing integrated systems from scratch. We work closely with clients to ensure that the necessary level of integration of registers, procedures, manuals etc is achieved. IMS services that we offer include:

  • Gap analysis – a site visit and report identifying compliance of current system with relevant standards (e.g. OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001) including an action plan for integration.
  • Risk Register – development of a register which highlights your organisation significant health, safety and environmental risk
  • Legal register – development of a register identifying all the environmental and health and safety laws that are applicable to your organisation.
  • Objective, targets and management programmes - development of these to help drive you management system forward.
  • Procedures and Manuals:  writing of integrated systems and operational procedures  and manuals that are simple to understand, easy to use and provide effective control and reduction of your significant impacts.
  • Training – provision of awareness, internal audit, specific and implementation training. See training pages for further information.
  • Audit – undertaking of a pre certification audit to relevant management system standards (e.g. ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001)to  give you piece of mind that you system is up to the standard expected by your certification body.

Why us?

  • Experience of designing  and implementing numerous integrated and individual environmental and health and safety management systems.
