Integrated management systems (IMSs) offer many benefits over the implementation of separate systems for environment or health and safety.  As there are many similarities between ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 (and other systems standards) many activities required for each standard can be combined saving money, time and effort. For example procedures, training and auditing can all be combined to cover EHS issues.
